Gas Stoves Shall Be Gone! The Faceless, Nameless Bureaucrats Strike Again. Will you allow them to tax your gas range?
Donβt worry, theyβll just take it.
Why do Politicos and Bureaucrats hate that you peasants donβt live in the Stone Ages?
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission is considering banning natural gas stoves. These are used in ~40% of US kitchens. They emit a cocktail of air pollutants, per Bloomberg. If the Twitter Files didnβt prove the govβt loves you, this should. Do me a favor: Please elect a dog in 2024.
Other fun stories.
In 2021, JPMorgan Chase paid $175m for Frank, a college financial aid platform, but the website is no longer available and users are redirected to StudentAid.gov.
The founder of Frank, Charlie Javice, claimed that the platform had 4.25 million customers. JPMorgan claims that only 28% of emails sent to 400k users were delivered. (Uh this is not how it works- spam much?)
JPM is suing Javice and Frank executive, Olivier Amar, for allegedly faking 4 million+ accounts to inflate the startup's value.
Javice is accused of paying a data science professor $18k to create fake accounts and Amar is accused of paying $105k for a data set of 4.5 million students. (THIS is how it works). Javice's lawyer claims that JPMorgan is lying, but the bank denies it.
There were also concerns from Congress and the FTC that Frank was not making things easier for students and potentially selling student data.
Our friends at Stonks memeβd hard on the Forbes 30 under 30: Charlie Javice is in good company. Whoβs next from the list?
Also from Twitter. ChatGPT is taking the world by storm. It βmayβ have spell checked this article and rewritten parts. (No, it did)
β¦but is it a dirty dirty liar?
Also this week in A.i
Microsoft is talking about **through main stream media leaks about how great it is (it isnβt)*** integrating ChatGPT into its Bing search engine. andβ¦ video game testers at MS formed a union. Couldnβt have happened to nicer guys. This just in: Bing will still suck.
